In order to save China's endangered species, Species Salvation Projects have been conducted for the Giant Panda, Crested Ibis, Chinese Alligator, Eld's Deer, Elk, Wild horse, and Saiga Antelope.

To save Giant Panda,"China Giant Panda and its Habitats Protection Project"was launched in 1992 for establishment of nature reserves, recovery of its habitats and propagation in captivity. Crested Ibis has developed from 7 in 1981,to 331 currently.

Population of Eld's Deer has grown from the 26 individuals to around 1000 under careful
breeding.
Breeding and propagation of David Deer, Wild Horse and Saiga Antelope for reintroduction has succeeded.

In China, there are also many bases such as wildlife parks, wildlife rescue and breeding centers and tree gardens etc., which have been established for salvation of endangered species.
The propagated individuals of Chinese Alligator in captivity is around 10,000 now while above 1.000 individuals are still being propagated each year.
